Any benefits Nextdoor has in connecting government workers and the community could be replaced by a general city app. You should not be using nextdoor to 911 calls and the non emergency number should have an app so appropriate information is filed. Also I am sure there are a lot of other branches of the local government that could be keyed in like parks department and waste management. Sure is nice for boomers to bitch about the sky falling though.
