PBS was a huge part of my upbringing. I watched Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street often. My daughter is now 22 months old and she loves both shows. This morning for the first time she looked at me and asked for "Meester Wajer". Melted my heart. Today she learned about disabilities as Mr. McFeely brought by his granddaughter that despite her disability had just graduated from high school. Fred Rogers was an exceptional human being. Exceptional! Why Romney would invite the imagery that comes with "killing big bird" in to his campaign is beyond me. What a dumb move. He clearly dominated the first debate but much of the talk afterward surrounded that one "Big Bird" statement. He stole his own thunder. Dumb. Long Live PBS! aside: I have a friend that just had a baby and named him Preston Benjamin. I was excited when I realized his initials would be PBS. -cool.
