I don't understand copyright rulings sometimes. The courts rule that Apple can't ban you from jail breaking your iPhone, but you can't use any device that circumvents the CCS in a DVD. Each is using a product YOU purchased for PERSONAL use. What is the studios' argument? Once you circumvent this software for personal use, then its just a small leap to circumvent it for public use? Perhaps this is a case of the studios defending their software so that their protection doesn't lapse, in the way one has to send a cease and desist order to anyone using an unlicensed copyrighted logo, or else the logo can be considered public domain.
