I love the clash.

Well that's an understatement.

When I was growing up in a small mid-western town in Michigan, The Clash were my way into understanding a bit more about the world and a bit more about myself.

I first heard about The Spanish Civil War due to The Clash. Social issues were brought to the front wherein the rest of my life social issues were largely ignored or not brought up at all.

I still remember the day I listened to Give em Enough Rope and was blown away by "Guns on the Roof"

For someone who never even considered that there might be people who didn't like the current way things were being done, The Clash made me feel like I belonged (even if the band had long separated by the time I listened).

In 2002-2003 I lost the chance to see both Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash live. I'm trying to make an effort to see my favorite performers before it's too late now.
