Women rise to top in U.S. defence industry: does this represent a bright future?
I'm not sure I buy the gender gap. I'm sitting in a new staff orientation (staff are physicians and senior scientists) at a major health system currently (paying close attention, obviously!), and there are 6 men out of about 20 attendees. The gender gap is a vestige that will be gone as soon as the baby boomers are all retired.
Yes, I agree. In our generation we are seeing the gender gap disappearing in almost every field of study (except the physical sciences). The only institutions that are maintaining a gender gap are political and religious - but they will be changed radically in the coming decades. The gender gap is a vestige that will be gone as soon as the baby boomers are all retired.
I agree. I have a team of 7 that I work with and 3 of them are women. The most capable leader that I have ever had was a woman. But that had little to nothing to do with her gender.
