His blog is really not bad, especially if you take the time to read all his posts that cover essentially his entire life. Whenever people ask me what the American Dream is, I point them to his life because he makes a lot of mistakes like failing out of school (phd), many failing businesses, relationship failures, but he manages to bounce back through hard work. Not many places give you second chances like this.

So far, I enjoy what I'm reading. It definitely does seem a bit stream of consciousness meets self help with some smart humor. I just read his two steps to success which uses a brilliant Jesus analogy as the ideal success story for spreading an idea. -True.
Second (or third) chances are the not talked about benefit to an education system that requires a buy in. If you can pay, then you can go to school. Much of the rest of the developed world doesn't work this way. I have an advanced degree and a cool career that I love, but I failed high school. I only received a diploma because of a combination of good luck, social promotion and a couple extra courses. Community college is a beautiful safety net for people like me.

Wow, we have a similar path (with the huge difference in that I don't have a PhD) in that I barely graduated high school and then went to community college and started to figure shit out.
