The obvious question is who first called Trump "braggadocious" and how long it took him to look it up and feel insulted.

I'm pretty sure it happened at one of the GOP 'debates'. I can't remember who used it, but they made a thing of it on NPR or someplace. That was the first time I ever heard the word, and the last time until this 'debate'. My guess is that he decided to sprinkle in a few polysyllabic words to back up his 'best words' claim, and that was the only one he could remember at the time.

truthy

EDIT: Think I found Patient Zero.

That was July 22. At the 2nd Republican Debate, Donald Trump opened up with:

"“I wrote the Art Of The Deal,” he said. “I say not in a braggadocious way. I’ve made billions and billions of dollars.”"

Ha! Just was about to link the same thing. Still doesn't reveal where he learned it. Must have been at Wharton.

He reads Politico, or his people do. I am virtually certain that was the first time he's aware he's been called that, and it clearly stung.
