Well, I now have something I strongly side with Hillary on over Bernie. Soda is one of, if not THE main cause of obesity in the US, and with it, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, etc. It's causing as many health problems as cigarettes and alcohol. Why not tax it like cigarettes and alcohol? For that matter, tax all sugared drinks. If we all stopped drinking them, or drank them sparingly, the health benefits would save the economy trillions.

The contrast between our comments is beautiful.

Bernie isn't opposed to reducing sugary drink consumption. He's opposed to raising taxes on the poor. Which is what this proposal amounts to. There are ways to reduce soda consumption without taxing the poor.

Such as incentivizing manufacturers to reduce the production of soda products, and replace them with healthier alternatives.
