I'm a mild fan of Benicio Del Toro, first coming across him in The Way of the Gun (which is a great modern western/crime film) and while I haven't seen a lot of his movies, the ones I have seen I've never thought he's done a poor job. With the exception of The Shawshank Redemption, I haven't seen any Tim Robbins on the other hand. That said, his character in the trailer came across as a charming, fun guy. I'm definitely interested in this film.

Oh man! I just watched the trailer for The Way of the Gun. I'm pretty sure I've seen it before. Or at least the standoff at the end. Might have to revisit it!

For the most part Del Toro's a pretty good actor. Just stay away from The Wolfman. Such a bad movie.

If you do end up seeing it again, I'd love to hear your opinion about it. I will admit it's not a perfect film, but the things about it that are good are really good. Also, if you're a fan of gunplay and aren't shy about foreign films, I can't recommend John Woo's Hardboiled enough. Gripping film all around with great gunplay.

It's back on the 'to watch' list!

Hardboiled has been on my to watch list for far too long actually. I'm pretty sure I have a copy floating around somewhere. I think I know what my first movies for the year will be. Thanks!

I think you'll be starting off the new year right. Both movies are an absolute treat. Let me know what you think of Hardboiled too, because that's a movie I treasure. In fact, I think I'm going to watch it again this weekend. It's been a few years since I last saw it.
