There's no teacher shortage. There's a pay shortage. Starting someone at $30,000, then forcing them to pursue a master's degree on their own dime isn't exactly a way to attract talent. This 'crisis' is entirely of politicians' making, and it could be fixed tomorrow, were our budget priorities reevaluated.
