Yeah, I'm subscribed so I keep up with him. He does get a little too cynical at times, e.g. that E3 hype video.
I mean, he has a point. That video just didn't seem like, I don't know, informative cynicism, maybe. I, and others who weren't too fond of that video, know it's a marketing conference. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching the presentations and seeing what games are going to be coming out or announced. I enjoy seeing footage of, say, Fallout 4 and knowing that it's coming out soon. Or finally seeing gameplay of The Last Guardian. Or just that a FFVII remake is in the cards. I don't board the hype train immediately, but it's nice to see trailers and gameplay of upcoming games. But I'm a person who has never and probably will never pre order a game. So maybe that video just wasn't meant for me.
Yeah, I'm with whanhee on this. Throughout his E3 video, I was pretty much going, "Yep, George is telling it like it is." I will never understand why people get so hyped up over game trailers. It's like getting excited over food commercials even though the "food" used in the commercial is nonedible and the actual food you order at Subway looks nothing like how it looks in those commercials, and it almost always look worse. The E3 video seems a bit pointless in a "what did you expect" type of way, but you have to remember that SBH also made an E3 video for E3 2013 where he was somewhat positive about the event because he felt E3 2013 had some heart and wasn't completely a cringey, souless corporate event by suits for suits. He ended that video on an upbeat note looking forward to E3 2014. The E3 2014 video is pretty much him going, "Yep, this is a cringey, souless corporate event by suits for suits. Fuck you E3 for bringing my hopes up."
