He is fantastic to listen to. I sat down with my father, who left school at 14 to help run the family farm; We watched through 4 or 5 episodes of NDT's "Inexplicable Universe", and dear Dad was transfixed. I've never seen him take such an immediate interest in something academic and he particularly enjoyed Neil's simple but effective methods of explaining things.
Last time I visited my parents I noticed that they have National Geographic HD. My father told me that he is fascinated by all the animal documentaries in HD. One evening, he was zapping and Cosmos was on Nat Geo. He zapped to the next channel, not knowing what was on. I told him to go back and listen for 2 minutes. He was HOOKED. Turns out it was a Cosmos-marathon that showed all episodes. 5 hours later, he was still sitting there. It was dubbed in arabic. But the way things were explained were very simple and yet mind-blowing. Love his shows!
Do you know where I can find Cosmos dubbed in Arabic? I think that would be awesome to practice my listening.
I've studied arabic for ~5 years now. I like to use multiple sources, and I've really enjoyed studying scientific sources.
