This is the internet. Where you can get death threats for simply having the wrong opinion. It doesn't mean shit. Hundreds of thousand of people are rightly mad at her for trying to ruin their website, and playing the victim won't work.
"trying to ruin their website" is really imposing an agency here that I don't think existed. I think she tried to run it with her ideals in mind. And you can't just justify your statement by saying it doesn't mean anything. Saying she "paid the price" implies that this is somehow an agreeable circumstance, when it's definitely not.
The community didn't agree with her "ideals". That's the problem, not the fact that she's an Asian female. Who cares about that? Threats made on the internet are usually meaningless, and trying to make it seem like a few mean words were what caused her to step down is extremely intellectually dishonest on the part of the journalists.
