Having used Hubski for a few days, I had a very minor suggestion and whilst writing this post encountered something else which caused me a little confusion; I'm not sure if they're bug-related or not, but maybe?
1. When I'm on community and I click on one of the "most popular posts from today" which is linked to a url (like today's post on the Mars drill), clicking on this takes you to the website, but doesn't open the comment page. This is different to the behavior of clicking on a post on the main feed (where a new window opens for the url and the comment section opens in the existing window). Maybe it was planned this way, but seems like it might be good to have consistency? I'll admit, it took me way too long to figure you could click on the speech bubble to bring up the comment page.
2. When I look at tags, there is a section denoted "all tags". However, when thinking about posting this, I couldn't remember the #bugski tag and it's not listed on the "all tags" list. Is this a one-off, or are not all tags listed?
3. Also, when looking at stuff in the inbox, is there any way to change the behavior of clicking "dismiss"? When I do this, my page reloads and I'm sent back to the top of inbox. It'd be great if either clicking dismiss didn't reload the page, or it did and sent you back to the same location you were at previously (I'll add an addendum that I have no idea if this is possible).
4. When edditing this post, I encountered something else. The first indenting (for my list 1.) was removed when I edited the post. I then had to reindent to avoid some bad formatting. This seems erratic though. Did it twice, now isn't. Hmmm.
Sorry if it seems like I'm being pedantic -- I'm really digging Hubski and it's the first place I've felt like I want to contribute and comment on!Indentation should be a bit more sane now. Unfortunately we run a custom markdown parser written by me so it's not the most solid thing in the world.
forwardslash thenewgreen So this link won't post. Basically, when I hit submit post the page refreshes and it gives me this error.
Yeah, we just have some arbitrarily strict url validation. I eased it up and it should work even without the http[s]://
Thanks slash! If this is the only time this error message is delivered, maybe we can make it more specific. "Please check the URL" or "Please try copying and pasting the full URL again" or something like that. When this happened to randomuser, even I had no idea what to do or could be causing it.
You may need a prefix like "http://"
Hubski seems a little intolerant of non-standard URL sometimes.
[edit] It might also require at least one "tag".
It's funny because another link from the sam esite/format worked.
forwardslash -- missed you on the call! Can you please look into #4. Thanks!
Thanks NaN! We will add all these to our growing list. That last one is all forwardslash. :)
