veen and I have been geeking on a project that is purely for my own nefarious ends (more later, maybe, depending) and i stumbled across this. It's a fun little toy.
Man I wonder where DC gets all that money... Seriously, it's no wonder where they get it all from when you contrast it to places like 41166, which received a 0 on their scale, having apparently 0% college grads, and ~$19k in median household income. The fleecing of America is certainly a lot more easily understood when seeing all the dark blue on this map.
wowee. My neighboring town is 98% and so is mine. Town right across the river? 38%.
Harlem is a 23 and 47. Right now it's quickly becoming one of the coolest places to live in NYC.
Yeah that's definitely true, though the West Village is awesome and you're close to Morningside Heights (Columbia University area). If I take the G.W. Bridge up on 181st from work, it's a 140-block subway ride. No thanks.
Looks like the suburbs around the city rank a lot higher than the districts within the city itself. Then of course most rural areas rank low. I'm not too surprised by how this appears to have played out outside of the size of some of those "super-zips". The graphic representation is very cool, glad you shared this.
