Thanks, and welcome to Hubski! The reason the lyrics are hard to hear is recording limitations...eventually that will be fixed (see my response to thenewgreen for more on that). This was literally a bedroom recording. I'm glad you enjoyed the song and took the time to analyze it a bit, I was listening to a lot of Dowsing at the time and I think some of their traits came through on this one. I'm very, very new to singing so I'm sure it's sub-par at best if you were to get in to that. Looking forward to hearing some of your music sometime!
30+ years? Wow, that's impressive. Thanks for all the input and encouragement, I really appreciate it. I like the idea of using a scale and trying to match the pitches, I might have to try that. A lot of the music I listen to and try to emulate is punk and garage rock, where vocal competency usually isn't anywhere near the top of the list. You might be interested to know that there's a lot of musicians here, and there are occasional collaborative songs composed and recorded by groups of people.
