I sometimes wonder what it must be like to be him - the current most universally hated, and rightfully hated, man in the country. Someone so unequivocally in the wrong, and what it would be like if he truly thought he was doing the right thing. But then again we know he doesn't think that, and since he's making catastrophically irresponsible amounts of money and has made his previous and future employers so happy, he probably does not care in the slightest.
I like your phrasing, 'Catastrophically irresponsible.' I think when people get into extremely large figures of money, it loses all real meaning as 'This benefit in exchange for these consequences.' I think after a certain dollar amount that varies from person to person money starts becoming a moral, almost religious motivator, a prime purpose in justifying action. If I DON'T sacrifice these things, if I DON'T do these things, if I DON'T make these people happy, I let down my God(Money).
