Is this a case of "we'd rather do something than nothing"? What a bunch of bullshit. Doing something that makes people worse off (in so many ways) is not something worth doing. Make a stand. GOP will make a passionate stand over the most trivial section of a nothing law if it could be argued that even a nickel of gov't money could be spent on something they don't like. Dems apparently won't stand up on a core issue that affects the meekest members of society. Amazing that this happens on the day after the Pres gives a bullshit lip service speech about inequality. Hopefully he'll veto. He won't.

President Barack Obama has two vetoes on record:

He vetoed House Joint Resolution 64 which was superfluous. Always a power-broker move ... veto shit that don't matter.

And then there was House Resolution 3808 that "would've allowed banks to shortcut the current notarization process."

So ... I'm not sure it would be feasible with the president's contemporary limited political capital.
