The important thing is consuming less than you use. These diets can kind of be in the range of calorie restriction. Then we have other things like paleo, keto, etc. Personally my diet consists of mostly Mediterranean dishes: lot's of fruits, veggies, and a small portion of of meat proteins, mostly fish and chicken. Beef on occasion, about twice a week. I don't drink anything other than water. Essentially, I see it as eating as one should. A solid, whole foods diet also makes it easier to maintain portions. My portions are comparably small, more nutrient dense foods.
