So my mother-in-law is a preschool teacher who's gearing up to put together an end-of-the-year slideshow to play at an assembly, and she wants original renditions of kids songs for it. I told her I'd be happy to work on it and see if there were others who would join the cause.
Struck me that there are a fair number of talented folks around here, and all coming from pretty different musical standpoints, who might be interested. All you'd have to do was pick a children's song and record a version of it with your personal spin.
Been working on a couple for a week or so, and it's been a lot of fun- forces you to get in a different head-space, and it turns out that most kids songs are really theoretically sound, which has made me reconsider the technique of song structure, pacing and phrasing.
Would this be something anybody is interested in? If so, I've got a long list of songs that are worth biting into. If not, that's totally cool- there's no real pressure, just thought it might be a fun way to interact/collaborate/give something back to the world.
Yea? Nay?
