and
Rot in limbo. Gee, I'm sorry you read some shit online and decided to call for the deaths of your fellow Americans, and ran off to ISIS with your college tuition money... and it turned out to suck there. Gee... who coulda imagined that?!?
Tough luck. You have no country. You are a traitor. You'll die in that camp, either from disease, murder or whatever. But ya know what? That's the bed you made. Sleep in it.
The "I was just a dumb kid" schtick sounds like a YOU problem, not a ME problem. I was a dumb kid too and played with motorcycles and fireworks and protested against the Moral Majority (IS NEITHER!). But I never renounced my fucking country, family, friends, and nationality to go fight in a WAR with a buncha rabid woman-hating lunatics.
My empathy does not extend that far. That's it; just over the edge into Fuck You Land.

On the other hand, my logic tells me that this woman is the PERFECT person to cultivate into the next phase of ISIS. The 'western' world turns our back on her, and she goes into the only arms she knows with renewed vigor, and becomes a young and beautiful lure and promoter of ISIS psychopathy, mothers a dozen new child fighters, becomes an icon and a martyr, and is far more dangerous as a symbol than she ever was as a human.
AND, there are organizations here in the western world that work against Islamic radicalization and helping people out of the programming and back into society. She'd be a wonderful asset for such an organization. A life of long, frustrating work, trying to help people out of radicalized beliefs and back into the community of Americans.

What do you all think?
And then realize that there are 60,000 of her in this one camp, which is a hotbed of recruitment for, and straight up home of certain ISIS operations. And this is not the only camp of ex-ISIS followers.
I know I am a white middle aged American male with all the privileges that affords me, and I was not raised in a strict Muslim household in Alabama like she was.
But where's the line? I have zero empathy for her; she lives with her decisions. Done. But logically, it is safer to bring her back into the fold and try to reform her and turn her into an asset against ISIS, just to protect against the possibility of her become a martyr/icon for use by ISIS propagandists.
Thoughts...?
