Roy Moore is evil. I do not use that word lightly. He has no regard for the US tradition of a liberal democracy and wants instead a theocratic authoritarian government.

Mr Moore, 70, is best known for losing his position as the state's top judge twice. The first time, he had flouted a court order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the courthouse.

When the people of Alabama elected him to the court again, he was suspended a second time for defying the US Supreme Court's 2015 ruling legalising gay marriage.

And now he is a US Senator, or will be in December. The DNC is bothering to contest the race. I am opposed to term limits, but maybe we need an age limit on elected political animals. Nobody over 70 can run or hold office. You grew up four generations ago, your time is up.
