I'm not going to lie. I miss the hell out of boxing and if I could, I'd go back to it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately for medical reasons I'll never be able to get back into it, nor any of the more competitive martial arts such as BJJ, Judo, Muay Thai, etc. I feel absolutely restless though, like I have to do something. After doing some thinking, I decided to check out fencing and the type of injuries associated with it and think it's something that I could probably safely pull off.
I think I'll spend the next week or so looking into the style, some nearby schools, prices, etc. and see what I think. It'll be hard to squeeze it into my busy schedule, but if I can make it work, I think it'll be worthwhile. The only part I'm having a hard time swallowing is the cost of schools. They're pretty much 3-4 times as much as local boxing gyms. That right there will be one hard sell to the wife. I might have to sell a few things to raise the cash or something.
