I'm embracing "having a personality" as a writer. It actually seems to have helped me in recent submissions. So the etsy post is about as nutty as a cacao forest.
Please ask me anything about this book. Please ask me anything about learning how to make books. (DANG! It is not easy! And mostly boring!) I plan to continue publishing "books" of some sort similar to these, though I plan to make them more complex/bigger, as time goes on, simply because I invested so much in supplies that I feel I cannot justify using them once.
I had the idea to undertake this project about 7 months ago and I gave myself til the end of Q1 2015 to do it. I knew it would be hard and time consuming and I'd have to just take things one step at a time, slowly, over weekends.
I'm 4 days late, but here we are.
IF YOU LIVE AROUND HERE/ME/ARE GOING TO SEE ME, Please FUCK ETSY!, their trsx charges, and shipping charges, and PM me. It'll be $5 flat. I will happily, happily, sign a copy for anyone who would like me to.
My former college professor was all like "NEVER SELF PUBLISH AGAIN IT'S LOOKED DOWN ON. YOU'LL BE EMBARRASSED IN THE FUTURE."
I couldn't quite say it in the listing but fuck that and fuck that attitude. This is 2015. I can do what I want and if that's self-release a seriously thin tiny volume of poems that I wanted to send out into the world together, I'm going to do it. And if poetry editors are going to judge me for that then they clearly have spent too much time reading my bio and not my submission.
I'll make my own way.
Life has been exhausting and this project hasn't helped but it's one of the best parts of the exhaustion and work. I haven't been on here that much and probably still won't be for a while. But when things get right and I feel an even keel again, I promise, you have a great big long Pubski post to look forward to about the whole ding dang thang.
Also guys of course please no one feel obligated to buy. I doubt I'll sell 50 of these, that's about what I expected, and that's okay.
