This beautiful photo by
khaaan http://hubski.com/pub?id=21331 got me to remembering my college days. The second major I declared (the first being anthropology... that didn't last long) was Photo Journalism. I became interested in photography after seeing the work of Edward Weston, the NYT article that is linked above is from 2006 but it does a nice job of describing his body of work. I used to love spending hours in the dark room dodging and burning etc. I can recall having spirited discussions in lecture about whether or not digital photography would usurp analog as the dominate medium. I'm glad I had the opportunity to learn how to use a dark room. I'm also glad I switched majors.
