Heya Hubski!
So I did it! This weekend I went down all the way to New York from my humble school outside of Boston in order to play at Carnegie Hall.
Camera information: Moto X, stock camera. Note: shitty low-light, great everywhere else.
Friday, January 16thLeft early from classes on Friday.
Plane delayed for 2 hours.
Saturday, January 17th
Morning after, practiced (my classical piece) at a jazz rehearsal space on W 46th in Mid-town/Times Square. [RECORDING INBOUND]
Liquids are forbidden.
Culture Espresso on W 38th: highly recommended if you ever want an espresso in mid-town Manhattan.
Grabbed an amazing cortado. Yo, ecib, let’s be coffee enthusiasts together.
Hung out at Columbia, just walking around campus.
Dinner at Grand Central - Hale and Hearty.
The solitary red chair, seen in its natural habitat. Don’t disturb it lest it bite yo ass.
Met my friend Mr McBlurryface from old haunts, we hung around Times Square catching up after I practiced (again) at Michiko.
Saw this broken-ass video billboard.
Sunday, January 18th
Posted the Sunday Paper (shameless plug).
Third and final practice session before the big event.
[RECORDING INBOUND]
Weill Hall, right this way.
PERFORMANCE PHOTO! (albeit unauthorized) o.o
No audio of the actual performance — my mother was ballsy enough to take a photo but didn’t wanna risk taking a video. Carnegie rules. Sorry!
Headed back!
I think it was lil that suggested that we should have a get-together on IRC soon. How does Tuesday night (21:30 EST?) work for people? That works best for me, but I’ve never been good at planning this sort of stuff. Does anyone have a better time? thenewgreen, nowaypablo, galen, insomniasexx? steve? eightbitsamurai? Also, my competition entry video, in case anyone didn’t see and wanted to:
