Class field trip to St. John's Cathedral, where legendary jazzman Duke Ellington's funeral was held. The tour guide mentioned that his piano was donated to the cathedral, and warned us to not go near it.
I did anyway. I'm not sorry.
As the class was going back on our busses, I snuck back with my friend's smartphone, opened up the cover and under a minute soaked it all in, took evidence, and (softly) played two or three chords before putting it all back and getting the hell out of there.
I feel different. It was a big deal for me. I'm going to try to go back, somehow film/record a piece on it.
