This is kind of a depressing map... Mine's basketball coach- NJ I guess it's kind of an allusion to how the US as a whole puts so much more worth into entertainment than into research or education
If anything, I definitely agree with the fact that AP courses were nowhere near as difficult as their college counterparts. As an engineering student, taking math and physics courses in high school was a pushover compared to taking them in college. Not only are they more difficult, but they cover much more material than they do in high school.
I don't know, I just want to experience some things out of the blue and learn about myself along the way.
The entire album is really good! Thanks for sharing, you guys are really talented and I'll definitely be following your band from now on!
I'm looking forward to meeting new people, continuing my relationships with my current friends, learning new things, and having adventures. For the past year, whenever someone has asked me "what's new?" I gave the answer "nothing". Over and over again. 2012 was a year of stagnation for me. 2013 holds the promise of change and adventure, and I'm looking forward to broadening my horizons and becoming a better person.

In no particular order Angela's Ashes- its a story of an Irish immigrant family seen through the eyes of their oldest son. It's ridiculously sad, but at the same time the writing makes me crack up through my tears. Absolutely one of the best books I've ever read. East of Eden- definitely my favorite Steinbeck book. I loved Steinbeck growing up, and I think that this was definitely his masterpiece. The Old Man and the Sea- when I first read this book as a kid I thought, "well this is boring". Several years later, when I reread it for a paper I was writing, I understood Hemingway much more, his style was fantastic and I fell in love with the book immediately. The Harry Potter Series- simply because I grew up with the books, and it's had such a large impact on my generation. Rowling is the reason I loved reading as a teenager and the reason I love all of these other books. I absolutely love the story and reread the series once every few years. I can't think of a fifth one right now, I'll come back and edit this post when I figure one out
Ahh... Hadn't seen that chart above. Thank you!

Just a warning about this kind of mindset: I often end up in a sort of contentment with my lifestyle, regardless of how unhealthy it is. A certain amount of discontent is good for motivation and building up that motivation for an unpleasant activity (such as studying) is difficult when you're happy regardless of the fruit of your labor.
I don't think it's necessarily anything I do, but I tend to be happy regardless of what's happening, simply because the alternative sucks. It's not really a forced happiness, but it is chosen, and after a while it becomes completely natural to just be happy for no goddamn reason other than that being happy makes me happy.
I've heard that drowning is the most painful way to go. I don't have a source or anything, this is just what I've heard. I would want to go either very peacefully and quietly or in a blaze of glory. Dunno which. All I know is that I want people to remember me after I die. I don't want to live a wasted life.
My friend told me of a terrible movie that was to come out soon that was basically the equivalent to a "Zombie Twilight" and to prepare for the worst... But after I saw the trailer for Warm Bodies in theaters and actually enjoying it, I feel like there may be some hope for it, as long as they play their cards right. The trailer was honestly pretty funny so I'm looking forward to how they're going to make the movie. A comedy wouldn't be a bad choice.
It isn't! Alternatively, there's this version, with some more Badass thrown in:
I'm a bit confused, how can there be a repeat in a column? Gun violence can't be the first AND fourth leading cause of death...?
This is really cool, I was showing my friend this site earlier today and we were talking about what kind of demographic this site had, as well as how many people are active on it on a regular basis. It'll be interesting to see the results
It had been my top pick from very early on in high school, so even though I'm out of state my parents let me go. I'm hoping that my future income outweighs my future debt.
I had deleted my Facebook for about a year, but at the urging of all of my friends, especially those that I have a hard time keeping in contact with, I made a new one with a limited number of people, the people I actually care to hear about. I rarely post, and the main use is for group chats. I have a Twitter that I made a while back but never go on, because I don't find people's 2-second thoughts incredibly interesting. I'm doing my best to get off of Reddit, I found out about Hubski through that r/TheoryofReddit post but I've been getting sick of the content on there for a while. Tumblr is where I go for silly pics and the like, but I go on very rarely and reblog even more rarely. I'm just getting started on Hubski and I really love the amount of actual conversation on here, and I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time here.
Hey, I'm also new, and I DID come over from THAT reddit post, but hopefully I'm not one of the annoying people. Back to the question, my greatest strength has to be perseverance. I tend to not give up even when I know there's little chance of winning, or even when I've lost hope in a situation. It's served me well in my relationships with family and friends and it's probably my favorite part of being me.
Georgia Tech. Huge nerd culture and a great campus. Loving every second of it.
