Do you have a real point to make, or are you just being an asshat for the hell of it?

Hell  ·  3524 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: “Are You Really A Six Figure Home Studio?”

I was wondering where he lived where one can claim 90% of their rent as a deduction without getting flagged...

Hell  ·  3532 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: GitHub experiences extended DDoS attack

The attacks seem to be coming from the Chinese government itself, with the intent to force GitHub to remove the GreatFire.org program, which is used to allow Chinese citizens to mitigate the national web censorship.

Hell  ·  3595 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Why you can't "invest" in bitcoin.

Well, this only applies really to institutional investors, but when you invest in a company by purchasing stock you can gain control of that company through votes.

Speculation in gold or bitcoin doesn't do that.

Hell  ·  3611 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: I am so ready to get the fuck out of LA

That photo is not very appetizing.

You're jobless because you're bitter and blame your faults on others instead of dealing with the real problem.

Hell  ·  3693 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Cuba, you owe us $7 billion

Tides rise, borders change, powers rise and fall. It's the cost of doing business, the risk offset by the potential opportunity in a country that at the time was combatting a political uprising. Unfortunately they were on the wrong side of that coin and Cuba doesn't owe them shit.

Sometimes we have visions, flashes of our fucked up future. This may be one of those moments.

The only solution is for you to tape yourself watching that show and post it to youtube.

Hell  ·  3735 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: I never do this. Ever......

Regarding this situation, I found an interesting Google trends chart. I had not realized how much of a spike this event has caused people to visit Reddit en masse, and thus force older users to look for alternatives due to dilution (perhaps only perceived).

Hell  ·  3757 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Shoot First: Police tell Detroiters to buy guns

Why doesn't he advocate instead for more officers, for more funding, for better organization within the department?

It's likely that will never happen, not at least until the fed steps in with bails of money. Finger pointing at an anemic police force and telling them they need to find better ways to run their department help nobody. For once, they are being honest about the most effective way people can protect themselves.

Maybe they've learned from Russia that trying to pretty up what they are doing will have a detrimental effect on their PR. The world already has a critical eye on Israel, people will just use anything they say against them.

Hell  ·  3784 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: This is how film shoots kill people

Generally speaking, the unions shoots I've worked on have been safe. Though, I haven't worked too much in the industry professionally. It's the indie shoots that I'm extremely cautious about. I'm quite aware of the story here and it's incredibly sad what happened. It is great that there has been a backlash on the production though... the producers on this need to be prosecuted.

Those quotes are hilarious, thanks for sharing them. It happens all too frequently.

Hell  ·  3788 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Who(m) have you muted?

Ironic badging eh? I think you get a douche trophy for doing that.

Hell  ·  3788 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Who(m) have you muted?

I've already used it on several users here who've demonstrated their immaturity allows them to blow up so easily. I've got enough shit to deal with in life as it is, no need to add more morons to the mix.

However, I know everyone here likes to lament about how Reddit is epitome of vitriol, but I think the way Hubski is set up is inevitably going to make for an even worse community.

Hell  ·  3792 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Whats your result?

Looks like we're forming a hive mind. I thought I would be more right, but I have a feeling the results were skewed by the religious/sexuality questions.

Hell  ·  3795 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Samantha Allen has quit games journalism

I'm sure you struggle with a lot of things.

Hell  ·  3795 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Samantha Allen has quit games journalism

Good catch, I should reword that.

Hell  ·  3798 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Scientists threaten boycott of European commission-funded Human Brain Project

I'm convinced that last word is unnecessary.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that you don't think it will ever be viable?

Hell  ·  3798 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: An App Turned My Life Around

This is cool but:

    Exercise — 100 push ups, 40 V-ups crunches, 20 jackknife crunches, 150 bicycle crunches a day — 251 day streak.

This is excessive. The body needs time to repair muscle tissue. It would be better to spread out the workouts, to alternate between them all every 2-3 days. Otherwise you can potentially damage/hurt yourself.

Hell  ·  3798 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: An App Turned My Life Around

As long as it's not sore day after day I think you'll be alright, but damn, you should probably be able to run a marathon by now. :P

Hell  ·  3803 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Samantha Allen has quit games journalism

Agreed. People who use trigger warnings for nonsense like is an insult those who actually need them. I don't even know how this is newsworthy, after all 40% of unemployed workers are millennials.

Hell  ·  3809 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: 25 countries photoshop Esther Honig to make her beautiful

Agreed. Not only that, it seems the standards for the photo retouchers were not very high.

Hawken is also a pretty fun mech game that's free to download, pay for cosmetics. And although it's dated now, Wolfenstein ET is also free. Don't play these games if you consider yourself a productive person though. /timesink

Hell  ·  3825 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Europe’s Problem With Politically Correct Fashion | TIME

Here and here are the two examples mentioned in the article that didn't include pictures.

Personally, I don't know what to think. People get offended about all sorts of stupid shit. I think the tone of the article is fairly apparent. Speaks more of Johanna Cox's ignorance and narrow mindedness of the fashion world than anything else, which usually has some pretty fucked up shit.

Hell  ·  3833 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Interesting take on gentrification

He never says anything remarkable anytime he speaks out in public. Usually just tired, overreaching diatribes against whatever injustice he is feeling at the moment. That's why I ignore him, not because he is talentless, nor did I insinuate that you should ignore someone because they are talentless. I didn't realize there was different heights of stupidity either, I guess you have a little catalogue for that sort of bullshit.

Hell  ·  3833 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Interesting take on gentrification

So the guy who wants $32 million for his New York townhouse is complaining about gentrification in the same city? I wish most people would ignore this talentless hack.

Hell  ·  3839 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: So I bought Watch_Dogs

This is just another example of executives, marketing and game directors force feeding their egos onto an unwilling audience. People who actually play and love games are not in charge of the decisions being made there. That said, Ubisoft Montreal has done well in the past, so this sort of comes as a surprise. But there are definitely people in that office who should not be in there, above the line and writers included.

I've been watching some bug videos and at times the game almost looks like Goat Simulator...

Hell  ·  3854 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Cheese or font?

A lot of seasoned graphic designers tend to stick to about 20 fonts or less and know how and when to use them. I'm going to send this to my Dad who is a graphic designer, see how he does.
