That's what I'm saying - Star Wars represented a paradigm shift. You can tell the guys who cut the trailer didn't know what to make of what they had. Hear the extra sound effects? See the nonsensical edits? Hollywood was gobsmacked by Star Wars. What's interesting is that of all the films that came before it, Star Wars owes most to Hidden Fortress and if you watch the Hidden Fortress trailer, you can pretty much tell what it's about even though it's in Japanese. That trailer makes a lot more sense than the Star Wars one, even though it's 55 years old.
