After watching that Eisenhower speech it's amazing to me how spot on it is. We are literally being held hostage by an industry that can only thrive through the acceleration of violence. I guarantee that the heads of the major defense contractors silently celebrate every time our country is attacked or threatened. If I were a more "conspiracy" minded person, I'd even wager that they back such things. Also, when was it written that a company HAD to grow it's profits every year? If you grew 10% the previous year and then the next year were flat... that's okay. What a mess.
