Not surprised at all by this. Parker and Stone have a long history on their show (of which, in full disclosure, I am a huge fan) of jabbing Scientology from time to time. I was glad to see a couple months ago that Comedy Central decided to once again air the "Trapped in the Closet" episode. For those unfamiliar, in this ep, Tom Cruise locks himself in the closet and won't come out--subtle, right--and the show was used a platform to ridicule Scientology, when the Scientologists become convinced that Stan is their god incarnate. Subsequently, Cruise bullied Comedy Central into pulling the episode from TV and the web, at least while Mission Impossible 3 was being promoted. Also, the fallout from that episode caused the split between them and Isaac Hayes, who went on to claim that he left the show because Matt and Trey are racists. They kind of got the best of that debacle in the episode "Chef goes Nanners" (watch it at southparkstudios.com, well worth it).

All of this makes it not surprising that the church wants to get back at them. The surprising thing is why in the name of Xenu does the Church of Scientology have a secret police? This sounds like it should be illegal, since the FBI or CIA doing the same is forbidden. Someone needs to stop these insane bunch of cultists. Religious freedom, my ass. Is conspiracy theory and hyperparanoia part of their religious practice? The leader of that organization needs to be prosecuted for violation of civil rights.
