Why do so many vocal defenders of gun ownership have to be nuts? By most measures, I am a liberal. I believe in the importance of the Second Amendment. I am not squishy. We have plenty of guns in our family. Personally, I think the best way to reduce rampages is by improving mental health screening and availability of care, plus checks to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill. Most gun owners don't get a false sense of security or bravado from owning a gun. Nor do they view gun ownership as a political position. This guy has a disturbing worldview.Just as Obamacare has nothing to do with health, and cap and trade has nothing to do with so-called global warming, anti-gun laws have nothing to do with saving children’s lives.
