Forced sterilization has a fine secular tradition. You can be evil while thinking you're good without Jesus whispering in your ear. "Racism", "a fundamental disrespect for human rights" and "devout Christianity" have some overlap on the Venn diagram. You could probably even tease out a correlation. But it's not the maxim you think it is.
