Define "humanities" and explain why they should be a significant part of any higher education. This is such a tired trope. We all wave our hands and say "since none of us wants to kill babies, obviously it's STEAM not STEM" while also failing to notice that we're just appending an unexamined grab-basket of liberal arts to spackle over our comp sci classes. We say "drink your milk" because our parents said "drink your milk" and we expect our kids to say "drink your milk" without acknowledging that it's caloric, people don't digest it well and its place in society is largely due to outsized subsidy.
