I sure didn't see that a country would vote "fuck you" for president, despite appearances to the contrary. The past three years have done a yeoman's job of making me stop overestimating the intelligence of the average voter. What was particularly striking to me is that a thousand days ago, the economy of the UK was the size of California and Washington put together. Today, the UK's economy is smaller than California's. Despite Brexit not actually happening yet the UK economy has contracted some 15% compared to its peers.
