John K. Samson of The Weakerthans just put out a solo, it's pretty good. A bit too on-the-nose and I'm not sure how well it will age but I'm enjoying it right now. Reminds me a bit of The Mountain Goats in some ways. David Bazan released a collection of Christmas covers and originals he's been putting together for over a decade. Probably going to go to his Christmas show, think it will be interesting at the least. Once again, proving that everything I listen to predates me by 5-10 years.
