I wonder if Chrysler hadn't bought out AMC, they'd still be around today filling the niche that Subaru ocuppies. I think the only two complaints I've ever heard about the Eagle is that they feel underpowered and that they're ugly. I understand both criticisms but personally disagree with the second. I think the Eagle Wagon with wood trim looks absolutely beautiful, but then again, I like weird cars so my opinion needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

My wife really likes wagons, so she's been a fan of Volvo for a while. When we first got together, we flirted with the idea of getting a c30 but at the time, we just couldn't afford it. Looking back, with the exception of the looks, I don't think there's really much to the car to justify the price in our minds. For that price, we could have gotten a good sports car or a decent entry level truck.

I remember when I heard that Ford was selling Volvo to Geely, the idea kind of confused me. Everybody always talks about how car companies were upset that Chinese manufacturers that made their parts would leak blueprints so other Chinese factories could make bootleg parts and here Ford was, selling Volvo and all of the years of their research to a Chinese company. I know money is money, but that just struck me as a bad idea.

I love that pic of the lifted Eagle though. I have a love for things like that. I've seen Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, Pintos, and Novas on truck chassis at car shows and think they're awesome. Knowing that someone could do something like that with an original chassis though? The thought makes my heart skip a beat.
