Buy the app "Paper". This is one of those things that makes you realize you are living in the future you see in the TV ads. Technically, it's just a "note-taking app". But then there is this little camera button... so I took a photo of the room I was working in. I then clicked on the pencil button, and was able to draw on the photo. So I took some dimensions, some notes on where the studs were located in the wall, and then went to Home Depot and showed the guy there what I wanted to do. I could zoom in on the photo to show detail, zoom back out to show the dimensions I had written on the photo, and show where the studs were. It was... so simple. So obvious. And somehow totally magic, as well.
