Interesting. It is similar to our block, but if I understand correctly, the blocked user can still reply, however the blocker does not see it although everyone else can.

Here the blocked user cannot reply to your comments.

We have discussed this approach, but considered that if the blocker couldn't see what the blocked user was saying, the blocked user might take advantage of it to spread un-refuted misinformation or similar things.

EDIT: I forgot, this was another complication we considered.

    Currently, no. We're redacting the comment tree at the point where any user on your block list appears. The alternative was to do something more explicit (comment deleted or even you blocked this user).

    Honestly, we'll revisit this approach depending on how it ends up being used.
