Honestly I am not too surprised! There is evidence that Inuit were able to survive 20000 years ago using fatty foods and sustaining themselves through the last ice age. It is a big jump (for humans) to go from 20000 to 45000 years of survival estimates, but because of the adaptation in the environment and the lack of mobility to southern climates, I would predict we'd see more and more preserved remains as time goes on.
