I was just talking with my dad the other day, who just built a new house. He was bitching about the new arc fault breakers that are code these days (at least in NC; I have no idea about elsewhere). Apparently, they trip every time you try to light a gas stove, hence the inspector sins off and you immediately replace the breaker when he leaves. He was like, "When the hell do you have an arc in an circuit, anyway?" Well, I guess this is when. Glad the damage wasn't catastrophic.
