whenever i personally use the word "next" to describe any day, it's that day closest to the current time. if i say "next monday" on friday, it's the monday right after that weekend. if i say "next monday" on monday, it's the monday seven days away. if i mean "not this one but the next one", i'll use "the monday after next". hopefully this helps
