Isn't that the problem the semantic web is supposed to solve for us? That's if anyone can be bothered to implement and use it. It seems too difficult and too time consuming to do it manually, so I think the only way it can work is if AI becomes good enough that we can start automatically categorising things like video, pictures, speech and text.

There is some progress there, but it's still al long way from becoming mainstream and accessible to all.
