Yes there were instances when there was a To Kill A Mockingbird feeling to it. Some of the flashbacks felt that way. It seems to me that Harper Lee was trying to find a direction with Go Set A Watchman as she often went back and forth from a third person narrator to a first person narrator. Once she found a direction, Mockingbird was the result but it doesn't seem like Watchman got fully completed. Watchman seems more like ideas trying to find their way.
