    more craters will emerge in an area awash in gas fields vital to the national economy.

1) Screw the economy of Russia. When they stop trying to take nations that aren't theirs, we can talk.

2) The fact that these craters are releasing large stores of methane gas that should remain frozen underground is important to the world economy.

    Who could have guessed global warming would do all of that?

People have been saying it for ages now, haven't they?
