Have a seat.

I think we've discussed before that Hubski is the sort of place where people know more about you than they do on Reddit because, well, we tend to overshare around here. It's a social affinity thing, whereby we form some of the bonds of friendship across improbable barriers.

I think we've also discussed that you seem to rub people the wrong way without really meaning to. As such, I've been extra-cautious to give you the benefit of the doubt in instances when you're... a little under my skin. I've been presuming that in general, you don't intend to cause conflict, but you also aren't properly equipped to minimize it.

It's also fair to point out that everyone here is assumed to be conversing like adults, acting like adults, and regarding things as adults, even if they aren't adults. We've got an admirable amount of mature younger members on Hubski and those of us who are older put a high value on their perspective. But honest perspectives are appreciated far more than affected ones.

And that's the thing. I have shoes older than you. That doesn't make me smarter, that doesn't make me wiser, but it does give me a greater well of experience from which to draw. It also increases the probability that I gave up on 4chan before you gave up on Underoos.

So sure. Bring up the cancer that is killing /b/. But know that when you couch it in language designed to imply insider status, your credibility is greater when your audience does not know for a fact you have not earned that insider status.

One bullshitter to another: know your limits, know your audience. Know that I'm tryin' here, but that there is effort being expended to give you the benefit of the doubt and sometimes, there isn't enough patience in a zen monastery to cover the deficit.
