Here in DC, the results are kinda bittersweet. We got pot legalization across with prop 71 one, and we're all ecstatic about it, but then we think about how that was something Tommy Wells pushed hard for, and for the right reasons: arrests target poor and black communities unfairly and ruin lives over minor things. And Tommy Wells is a fantastic person and what every politician should be. He lost in the democratic primary for mayor to Muriel Bowser, who also won last night. She is going to be... very bad for the city. Well, maybe not very bad, but the most we can hope for is "not fuck us over."

Not to mention, on the marijuana legalization, we all have to sit here on bated breath to see if Congress decide to tell us to go fuck ourselves and nix it. Of course, the GOP winning both House and Senate makes that possibly better for us, because all these republicans spouting off about state rights can't come in and stop us from our democratic vote without looking like massive hypocrites. Of course, that probably won't stop them, because what the fuck do they care about ideals once they're actually in office, but at the very least it'll provide a laugh if they do come down on us.
