First, to let off some of my emotional steam, if I ever had the chance to meet Benjamin Netanyahu. I will spit him in the face.

Okay, now I can talk. Phew...

The author mentions that the majority of israeli and American jews want a two state solution. I think this statement is not entirely correct as the idea of a two state solution of those two groups (American Jews vs. israeli Jews) is different.

These borders, to Netanyahu's horror, would be based on 1967 lines

This in combination of a shared/divided jerusalem and moving the settlements out of the area is probably what everyone else around the world thinks is okay (and me too, btw).

But the israeli jewish society thinks that this will make israel vulnerable to "everyone hates us and wants to kill us".

You have to understand that in israel, the media (except for Haaretz) is obviously following one idea. And it's to spread fear. Constantly, the media is spreading fear towards ISIS, Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and every other group that could be used here. This manifests the view that all the countries around israel want to push the Jews into the sea (sometimes used literally, yes, into the sea).

Bibi and others (Liberman, I am scared if this guy) profit from this fear-mongering. And you will see that when the next elections will come. A minority actually believes that there will be peace in the area and therefore think that israel has to protect itself even more.

Now to the title of this article. I would actually be happy if that would be the case. I mean, politically, it might be true that the U.S. are not happy about israel blabla. But at the end of the day, nothing will change. The strong jewish lobby will still do its work and the money will flow... :(
