What do you collect? I collect vinyl but I'm not very strategic about it, I just buy things I'd like to listen to. The one down side to this is that all of my family buys me vinyl now for things like Christmas etc and it's really something I prefer to get for myself. If I get another copy of Frampton Comes Alive.....!
I was gifted a collection of vinyl from a family friend that passed away last year. He had an amazing Beatles and T-Rex collection. His son is about 14 years old right now and not really very responsible (even for a 14 year old) and unfortunately, the adults in his life don't seem all that stellar either. When he is older and can appreciate it, I plan on giving him his fathers collection. Until then, I'll take very good care of them and enjoy listening. When I was a kid I collected baseball cards and recently I found the collection when visiting my parents. Also in there were basketball cards and some garbage pail kids. They're probably valuable (they're all in great condition) I think they'll go to my great-grandkids someday.
